Duo Roser/Asselbergs will change your expectations of what piano and drums can do; an intuitive and hypnotic performance of flow and stillness.

A concert by Daniel Roser and Gustan Asselbergs is an experience of flow and stillness. Their intuitive way of playing leaves room for the unexpected and opens up a space for the smallest gesture to become a turning point. Rather than limiting the music by all-defining compositions Roser/Asselbergs lets the music evolve from clear yet challenging points of departure which invite the listener to engage with the musical stream.

In 2018 pianist Daniel Roser (CH) joined forces with drummer Gustan Asselbergs (NL). ​​In 2019, the duo recorded a live concert at the Philharmonie in Haarlem (The Netherlands), demonstrating their unique way of adapting to the specific acoustics and atmospheric conditions of each concert stage. Their first record, Gestures, was released in april 2020.

​Daniel Roser led his group Erikunddu for eight years before starting this duo. Gustan Asselbergs is a versatile drummer who works with different musicians and projects.

De intuïtieve manier van spelen van Daniel Roser en Gustan Asselbergs laat ruimte voor het onverwachte en schept de mogelijkheid voor het kleinste muzikale gebaar om als omslagpunt te dienen. In plaats van composities die veel vastleggen, laat dit duo muziek ontstaan vanuit heldere uitgangspunten die uitdagend zijn en de luisteraar uitnodigen om zich te verbinden met de muzikale stroom.

In 2019 nam het duo een live concert op in de Philharmonie in Haarlem, waar zij hun unieke aanpassingsvermogen lieten zien om met de akoestiek van een ruimte te werken. In de lente van 2020 verscheen Gestures,  opgenomen in Studio Helmbreker.

Daniel Roser (CH) leidde acht jaar zijn eigen jazztrio Erikunddu. Gustan Asselbergs (NL) is een veelzijdige drummer die met uiteenlopende muzikanten en projecten heeft samengewerkt.
